This part of the website is focused on Tortoises and Turtles found in and around Australia. There are no land tortoises found in Australia although some species often travel long distances accross land and be found a long way from water. Fresh Water Tortoises are also known as Freshwater Turtles. Marine Turtles grow very large and live in the sea.
